Following is a sample copy of the LDAO newsletter, Lyme Alert.
Lyme Alert
The Lyme Alert is published 3 or 4 times a year. It includes a brief summary of our last meeting along with articles and information of benefit to Lyme patients and their care givers.
To obtain regular copies of the Lyme Alert, you must be a LDAO member.
The Lyme Disease Association of Ontario (LDAO) is a non-profit organization that operates completely on a volunteer basis. Our association was organized in October 1990 to help patients obtain current information on Lyme Disease (LD) and to network with others who have LD, while at the same time offering support to patients and their care givers. We also strive to increase doctor education and public awareness regarding LD.
Our research consultant, Mr. John Scott, published one of the first articles documenting the spread of infected ticks by migratory birds. His latest research paper has identified different strains of the bacteria that cause LD (in Canada) and these different strains, reveal greater potential for false interpretation of lab results.
We meet 4 times a year at various location stretching from Kitchener-Waterloo to Mississauga.
The annual membership fee is $40.00 and the membership application can be paid by cheque or credit card using the secure PalPal option, which is on this website.
